Liver support is incredibly important and often forgotten when it comes to our furkids. As our pets get older, many are often diagnosed with liver problems and a special diet or medication is often the normal course of action.

With dogs, ingesting toxins is more common than we think. On their walks, dogs pick up various toxins on their paws, or through licking. Once back home, even when we wash their feet, remnants of toxins might remain between their toes, or on their fur. While licking their paws or grooming themselves, they might ingest these toxins which in the long run affect their liver. With cats, even though they don't go on walks, this could be due to the cleaning solutions we use at home or even their cat litter.

A highly processed diet (such as commercial pet food in the form of kibbles or canned food that’s high in preservatives) may also stress the liver over time.

With these issues in mind, we've developed an easy-to-feed supplement-treat! Simply feed directly or crumble over food. Each piece contains ~65mg of Organic Milk Thistle. For dosage, you may check with us or your trusted vet :)

Our late pup, Skotch, took Milk Thistle daily as he had a high ALT and was a Low dosage of steroids from time to time and this helped him considerably. For healthy dogs consuming it as a liver detox, we recommend:

Taking it daily for 1-4 weeks, with a 3-4 week break in between, to be repeated 2-3x a year, OR,

Taking 2-3 a week for 4 weeks, with a 4 week break in between, and then repeat.

If your furkid is on other supplements/medication including antibiotics, hepavite, SAMe or others, please check with your vet prior to starting a new one.
