DIY FeedMyPaws Recipe: Mini Pork Floss Buns (featuring Stella & Chewy's)

Posted by Crystle Tan on

Hi everyone! Today I'll be making a mini, dog-friendly version of a very popular Singapore treat: the Pork Floss Bun! It rose to fame after BreadTalk marketed it (I'm not sure whether they're the original creators) and has been a hit for ages. As we all know, dogs can't eat bread (yeast) and copious amounts of baking soda so I didn't use any leavening agents in this recipe. Bake at 180 degrees celsius for approximately 15 minutes. Baking is NOT compulsory for this project. You...

Xylitol can KILL dogs!

Posted by Crystle Tan on

Xylitol is a common artificial sweetener found in human food and snacks. It's also known as a "sugar substitute" and is commonly found in "sugar-free" human treats such as candies, cookies, cakes, drinks, and more. EXAMPLES: While xylitol is tolerated by humans, it is EXTREMELY TOXIC to dogs. Some articles I've come across mentioned it can be "tolerated by dogs in small amounts" but I strongly, strongly, STRONGLY disagree with that sentence. 0.5grams of Xylitol doesn't sound like much, but it could potentially cause serious damage in a small dog. How would anyone know how much artificial sweetener is found in one cookie, or a slice of cake?...
