At Feed My Paws, we are passionate about providing healthy and nutritious food options for furkids of all kinds. That's why we offer a wide range of organic herbs for hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas. Herbs can be an excellent way to add variety and nutrition to your small animal's diet, and they offer many benefits for them.
One of the main benefits of organic herbs is that they are natural and free from harmful chemicals and pesticides. When you choose organic herbs for your pet, you can be confident that you are providing them with the best possible nutrition without any added toxins or chemicals. This is especially important for small animals like hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas, as their small size and delicate systems make them more vulnerable to the negative effects of pesticides and chemicals.
Another benefit of organic herbs is that they provide essential vitamins and minerals that are essential for your small animal's health. Different herbs contain different nutrients, so by offering a variety of herbs, you can ensure that your furkid is getting a well-rounded and nutritious diet. For example, Rosehip is a great source of vitamin C, which is essential for the immune system, while Calendula is anti-inflammatory, and Lavender is a natural stress relief for anxious furkids.
In addition to providing essential nutrients, organic herbs can also have medicinal properties that can help with a variety of health issues. For example, dandelion root is a natural diuretic that can help with urinary tract issues, while lemon balm can help alleviate digestive issues such as bloating and gas.
At Feed My Paws, a herb we highly encourage for your pet is echinacea, which boosts immunity, and reduces the chances of your pet falling sick.
When it comes to feeding organic herbs to your pet, it's important to introduce them gradually and in small amounts to avoid digestive upset. You can offer herbs fresh or dried, and they can be added to your pet's food or offered separately as a snack. Feed My Paws has both options! :)
Organic Herbs are natural, nutritious, and can provide medicinal properties that can help with a variety of health issues. When you choose organic herbs for your small animal, you can be confident that you are providing them with the best possible nutrition without any added toxins or chemicals. So why not try adding some herbs to your pet's diet today and give them the gift of good health!

Hi everyone!
Today we'll be sharing a very simple Home Cooked Meal you can easily prepare at home for your dogs and cats*!
We know how time consuming preparing home cooked meals for your dogs or cats can be, and we hope that this simple recipe (that only takes 35 minutes from start to finish!) will help you make that task just a little easier :)
*Vegetables are not essential to a cat's diet so you can omit it if you like
Here's what you'll need:
500g Protein of choice (I used chicken breast), cut into small pieces
2 pieces chicken liver (you can use pork liver, beef liver, etc)
1 can of sardine (soaked in water, approx 78g after draining)
Handful of chopped broccoli and carrot
Teaspoon of coconut oil (optional)
I usually rotate the types of protein used for my dog and cats. So we usually have chicken for a week, then salmon, then pork, then beef, and so on. I like that different proteins provide different amino acids (amongst other nutrients) and it's also a nice change in taste for them! :)
When it comes to offal, don't shy away if you can handle it! It's got a great source of minerals and nutrients for our dogs and cats. A little goes a long way though, so a small amount will do!
Sardines is an amazing source of omega-3 fatty acids (excellent for joint health), rich in B12 which is great for the heart, DHA that's fantastic for the brain, and so much more!!
Broccoli is rich in antioxidants and has the potential to slow down cell damage while carrots contain polyacetylenes, that has antibacterial and anti-fungal benefits (it does have a fair bit of natural sugar though so probably not something to add to every meal).
Before serving, aside from their supplements, I usually add a tiny sprinkle of Eggshell powder :) Calcium is very often overlooked or forgotten about with home cooked meals! You can get yours here: https://www.feedmypaws.com/products/eggshell-powder
Now, the steps!
We hope this recipe will be helpful during your meal preps for your dogs and cats! As with all Feed My Paws recipes, please tweak it if necessary to suit your furkid's ideal nutritional requirements, or check with your vet/nutritionist for the best diet :)
Support our free recipes by sharing them with your friends or shopping on our website! :)
Thank you and stay safe!!

Hi everyone!!
Our retail store just underwent a 2 week long renovation process and we're finally back in action! Okay there's still some much needed furniture that's missing but we should be ready for an official launch by the end of April :P
Anyway, we wanted share some parts of the renovation process with you guys! :) We ended up choosing Oneness Renovation (Clarissa sourced for many, many quotes before making a decision - she's an excellent finance manager, super niao AF hahaha) because their quote was competitively priced and the team was really nice!
They first came down to our store to understand what we needed and what our vision for the final look was - before giving us really useful suggestions (that was within our budget - they actually bothered to take note of that and at no point did they try to hard sell or insist we get certain things), and then provided us a detailed quote 2 days later.
They didn't just do what they quoted us for- THEY DID SO MUCH MORE!!! Our store used to be a retail + kitchen combined, but we've since moved the kitchen a few units down from our existing store so that we can have a bigger retail + workshop area. That meant moving our ENTIRE KITCHEN down a few units. It might sound close since it's "just a few units" but OMG. Carrying all those stainless steel tables, a massive sink, absurdly large equipment (like a 40kg oven), a counter, shelves and more was just CRAZY. They actually helped us do so much of that!!! It's definitely not part of their job scope- we're supposed to move that ourselves (or get movers) but they offered to help us out which was soooooo nice!!
One of the guys even helped us scrub the sink LOLLLL. That was after we cleaned it okay. Not sure whether to feel happy or insulted hahahaha.
Clarissa also sourced for brand new tables, another sink, and shelves. Most of these pieces required building and... Yup, they helped us build and install those too. Okay Clarissa did attempt building one of the tables and she was halfway through when Bryan took over and completed it within minutes. I think it was just too painful for him to watch her struggle HAHAHA.
(OH OH, they even let me play with the drill!! OMG, I WAS SO EXCITED. I mean I totally messed it up and screwed up the drill bit FML I'm so sorry guys but they didn't even get mad at me heh)
Anyway, LOOK AT OUR STORE!!
(That's my daughter on the right, starting to put her to work at 10 months old HAHA. And that cute ass boy is @iampoodlezero. His head of fur is just undeniably made for superstardom)
Also, here's an important lesson about passion from Clarissa:
We just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to Oneness Renovation for their amazing work and being soooo incredibly helpful bringing our new store to life!!! They didn't sponsor anything but we really wanted to do a shoutout for them because it's not everyday you come across such hardworking individuals who do so much more than what they're being paid for!
If you're looking to get some renovations done, you can approach Bryan at 81633002 for a quote! Sorry la no discount, we're not influencers LOL.

This morning I made Banana Pancakes for my daughter, Elle, and realised they’re dog-friendly too!! So I thought I’d share this yummy recipe for everyone looking to make a little treat :)
(This is a treat and NOT a meal replacement!)
Ingredients:
1 small banana (you can substitute with 2 tbsp pumpkin purée)
1 egg
1/3 cup oat flour* (instant oats, coconut flour, or buckwheat flour works too!)
Splash of goat’s milk (optional, I added it as my batter was too thick, you can add water or broth too!)
Eggs are an EXCELLENT source of protein, fatty acids, vitamins and minerals for dogs. Bananas are rich in potassium, vitamin B, and fiber, while pumpkin is rich in beta carotene, carotenoids, potassium, and vitamin C! So an all around yummy and healthy snack!
Steps:
1. Heat up a non stick pan (very important to use a non stick pan as you don’t want to add any oil). Once hot, turn the heat down to low.
2. Add batter 1 tbsp at a time (you can do smaller ones using a tsp!)
3. Once you see bubbles forming, flip them over and cook for an additional minute
Note: these pancakes cook FAST so keep your eye on them so they don’t burn!
Can be served warm or cold :) Store in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to a month. They make a fantastic easy treat or party snack for guests!
Happy cooking!! :) #feedmypawsrecipe

We know it's been a rather tough time for everyone lately having to deal with the Circuit Breaker in Singapore. It can get frustrating being at home, and there's only so much Netflix you can watch right?!
So we thought why not come up with a super easy recipe with "whatever we could find" in the fridge or pantry?! We know it's hard to get ingredients at the moment (and we really should stay home and not head out unless absolutely necessary) so this seemed like the perfect choice!
This recipe is very, very flexible and we have the substitutes listed below. If you don't have an oven, you can also make this with an air fryer, or you can make little pancakes using a non-stick pan!
We've got the steps in photos, as well as a YouTube video so you can refer to whichever is easier for you :)
VIDEO:
INGREDIENTS:
3 teaspoons Parmesan Cheese (grated cheddar, mozarella, cream cheese, cottage cheese, all work fine as a replacement)
1 Egg
2 Scoops Goat's Milk Powder
4 teaspoons Brown Rice Flour
Toppings (optional): I used whatever I could find in my pantry that I had extra of which were frozen peas, blueberries, and some oats :)
SUBSTITUTES:
Brown rice flour can be substituted with oat flour, garbanzo (chickpea) flour, coconut flour, wholegrain flour, buckwheat flour. I would avoid plain/bleached flour if possible. Corn flour and Tapioca flour is also not suitable for this recipe.
No cheese? Simply use canned sardine, tuna, or even fruits!
No goat's milk powder? Regular milk powder works too, as long as your pup or kitty is not lactose intolerant. Otherwise, just skip it and add more meat, fish, cheese, or even peanut butter! When using peanut butter though, make sure it contains only peanuts and nothing nasty like xylitol!
STEPS!
Step 1:
Step 2:
Step 3:
Step 4:
Step 5:
Step 6:
Step 7: Add toppings! Optional step.
Step 8:
Time to eat!!! Hoovy LOVED these!

https://www.feedmypaws.com/blogs/feed-my-paws/cosi-milk-versus-regular-milk-is-there-a-difference2017-10-10T21:46:00+08:002017-10-10T22:00:25+08:00Cosi Milk versus Regular Milk: Is there a difference?Crystle Tan
A couple of weeks ago after making a purchase of Cosi Pets Milk (my cat loves it, and my hamsters get it mixed with a bit of oatmeal), I suddenly noticed that it's manufactured by Harvey Fresh- who also has a range for humans (this sounds really odd haha).
So I decided to head to NTUC Fairprice and purchase a box of Harvey Fresh Lactose-Free Full Cream Milk to compare and see whether I could find any differences.
Nutritional content:
I've highlighted the main points in yellow, pink, and purple boxes. Look at the nutrition information. THEY'RE SO SIMILAR! There's only very, very slight differences but there's definitely nothing significant to note.
They're both UHT milk, which (based on Google) means they're heated so all bacteria is killed, allowing the milk to be kept for months at room temperature if unopened.
I noticed that Cosi Pets Milk is also homogenised and pasteurised on top of being UHT. From what I've read, pasteurisation makes food items sterile by killing all bacteria, which honestly sounds similar to UHT? That bit is a little confusing. As for the part about homogenisation: "Homogenization is the process of breaking down the fat molecules in milk so that they stay integrated rather than separating as cream. Homogenization is a purely physical process; nothing is added to the milk."
So, how do they look?
I'm not sure how many of you have fed your kittens or hamsters KMR, but Cosi Pets Milk has a very slightly thicker consistency and is a colour that's similar to that, whereas Harvey Fresh Lactose-free Full Cream Milk looks more like the regular cow's milk we (humans) consume.
I did a taste test, and Cosi Pets Milk tasted slightly sweeter, which could be due to the sterilisation (pasteurisation) and homogenisation process but of course, that's just me making a guess since I couldn't find much of a difference otherwise. It does look more appealing because of a slightly thicker consistency though.
Honestly, my cat couldn't tell the difference haha. It didn't matter to him at all!
With UHT milk, I find that a lot of the nutrients are destroyed in the process. I guess that's inevitable for easy storage. My preferred choice of milk for the boys has always been fresh goat's milk, but they occasionally get regular cow's milk as well because I drink that (the dogs aren't lactose intolerant, but the cat is slightly so he's not allowed regular cow's milk unless it's lactose-free). Cosi Pet's Milk Retails between $4.00-$6.00 a box, whereas the human version retails for only $2.90.
Anyway, this entry is just 'cause I was really curious about what the differences were, and I'm in no way asking anyone to switch or recommending one product over the other (not much of that to do though, since they're from the same company haha) :) I just thought I'd cover the subject to share! Perhaps this would make a good alternative if you have a huge party of 50 dogs and am on a tight budget? :) Either way, have a great week everyone!
xx Crystle

Hi everyone!
Today we have a quick and easy Chicken Patties recipe :) This recipe was actually inspired by my dear old man Skotch who's 14 1/2 years old now! He recently went for his annual checkup and we found out that he needs leaner protein in his diet to keep his kidneys and liver from being too taxed, so this (amongst many other) recipes was born. If you have a senior pup (age ~8 and above), it's a good idea to start bringing them regular, annual health checkups. That way you'll know how best to maintain their health as they get older :)
For both Skotch and Hoovy (who's 9), I'm lowering the amount of protein they consume. I do this by substituting meat with other lower protein items such as tofu, egg, or cheese (cottage cheese is said to be the best option!). You can also increase the amount of veggies they eat. You can just substitute small amounts, there's no need to swap everything out as dogs still need their protein.
If you have a senior pup and would like more of such recipes, leave me a comment on YouTube or Instagram! :)
Video tutorial:
INGREDIENTS LIST:
230g Minced Chicken (you can swap this for any kind of minced meat)
100g Pumpkin
1 large stalk Kale (or any other dark, leafy green such as spinach)
50g Tofu*
1 tablespoon Cheese (this is optional, but I find that trying to get dogs to eat more veggies, cheese is always a good start as they tend to love it! Another option would be sardines)
*Why tofu? Compared to meat, tofu is lower in protein, and high in calcium.
[[Live in Singapore and would like to support my work? Purchase a pack of treats from my website! Live overseas? You can purchase my E-Books! Your support helps me continue coming up with more free recipes to share!]]
Step 1: Finely chop, or use a food processor to grate pumpkin and kale. If you don't have a food processor, don't worry, just chop everything into tiny pieces. As I cook often (and am always experimenting with different recipes), a food processor is a great investment and major time-saver!!
Step 2: Mix together pumpkin, kale, minced meat, tofu, and cheese.
Step 3: Form little patties. The patties I formed were about 4cm in diameter and about 1cm thick. Small patties cook much faster and evenly :)
Step 4: Heat up your non-stick pan till it's really hot. If you don't have a non stick pan, you can bake these in the oven for 15 minutes at 180 degrees celsius, or use an air fryer (same temperature and timing as the oven). Once your pan is hot, place patties in. If you notice in the video, I did them in a clockwise order. This just makes it much easier to know when to flip each one (even cooking time) as opposed to randomly flipping them haha. Let them cook for approximately 2 minutes.
Step 5: After 2 minutes, flip them over. Then let them cook for another 1 minute or so.
Step 6: Add 5 tablespoons of water. Cover your pan and let cook for about 5 minutes. You can omit this step if you're using an oven or air fryer.
Step 7: It's ready to serve!
You can store these in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze them for up to a month :)

Hi everyone! On today's menu we have:
Baked (cheesy) Meatballs! The cheese is optional :) Here's what you need:
400g Minced Meat (I used beef, but you can also use pork/chicken/lamb/etc)
1 Egg
2 Tablespoons Brown Rice Flour (You can omit this or substitute with other types of flour such as coconut flour, buckwheat flour, etc. I find that it makes the meatballs nice and soft and helps keep them together too!)
OPTIONAL: 2 tablespoons Cheese (I used cheddar)
TIPS:
Use meat that's at room temperature so it cooks evenly.
Cheese and parsley is OPTIONAL. If your pup is lactose intolerant, or you're making this for a cat, feel free to leave these out (just FYI, my cat had the parts without cheese when I fed it to him).
The cooked meatballs can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 DAYS or in the freezer for up to 1 MONTH.
You can use an air fryer or oven for this. You can even pan-fry this in a non-stick pan. However, I recommend flattening the meatballs to make patties instead (so they cook faster and more evenly).
Here's the video tutorial (or if you prefer, step-by-step pictures below)!
Ingredients for the day! Combine and mix them well :)
Flatten the mixture in a bowl and use a fork or knife to divide into even portions.
Then form them into meatballs :)
Get an oven-proof dish to place your meatballs in for baking.
If using an air fryer or oven, here's the following cooking instructions:
MEATBALLS WITH CHEESE: Cook meatballs for 15 minutes at 200 degrees celsius, remove, add shredded cheese, and return to bake for another 5 minutes at 200 degrees celsius.
MEATBALLS WITHOUT CHEESE: Cook meatballs for 20 minutes at 200 degrees celsius
Sprinkle with some dried parsley so it's picture perfect!
Making this for a human? Serve with salted butter for a little more flavour!

Hi everyone!
Happy new year!!! Gosh... It's already February?! Where did January go?! I hope everyone has had an awesome new year so far! It was such a crazy time since Christmas for me. Aside from the fact that I was super busy with work, my timeline was pretty much:
Christmas celebration, New year's celebration, my mum's 60th birthday, my 6th anniversary celebration with my partner, Chinese new year celebration, today it's 'everybody's birthday' based on the Lunar calendar so yet ANOTHER celebration, then it's Skotch's birthday this weekend! I'm not looking forward to Valentine's Day to be honest, I think I'm done with celebrations for now :P
So yes, that's why I haven't been able to commit to coming up with more recipes but I'm gonna try hard to change that now!
<<Love my recipes and would like to support my work? Get my e-books HERE!>>
TODAY'S RECIPE: SALMON TART! :) A few simple ingredients is all you need!
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
80g Brown Rice Flour* (and a little extra for rolling your dough later)
2 Eggs
100g sliced fresh Salmon (You can use other types of fish)
2 teaspoons Coconut Oil (or olive oil)**
A non-stick tart case (I used a mini one that's 11.5cm in diameter)
*Other recommended types of flour include oat flour, garbanzo bean (chickpea) flour, coconut flour, or, buckwheat flour. I'm not a fan of wheat flour as it tends to "bloat" in the oven (also a nightmare to roll out because it keeps bouncing back together!) and I don't like my tarts looking out of shape, but that's just a personal preference.
**Can you make this without oil? Unfortunately not. I've tried making it without oil and the tart base ended up cracking because it was way too dry.
Video tutorial (or picture tutorial below):
Step 1:
Add oil to brown rice flour, and begin to add egg gradually. Mix each time you add a little more egg. If you add too much egg and the dough gets too soft, just add a little more flour. You know it's ready when the dough comes together :)
Step 2:
Lightly flour your surface and roll out your dough to approximately 0.3-0.4cm thick. Place it over the tart base and press gently into the grooves. Remove excess dough from the sides by rolling your rolling pin over it.
Step 3:
Arrange salmon in a fan pattern, or any pattern you like! :)
Step 4:
Pour the rest of the egg over (discard the extra if there's any, or microwave it and eat it haha, you just need enough egg to fill the tart).
Step 5:
BAKE IN THE OVEN FOR 25 MINUTES AT 150 DEGREES CELSIUS
TADAHHHHHHH!
After baking, remove to cool. Slice only once the tart is cool, otherwise there's a very high chance it'll break apart and you don't want that after putting in so much effort!!
Yup, they approved. I also think Hoovy is slightly ashamed that he has such a greedy older brother, haha! *looks away and sighs*
Making this for a human? Substitute coconut oil with salted butter for a little more flavour! I find that salmon is naturally salty on its own, so no additional seasoning required for that :)

Hi everyone!
It's that spoooooky time of the year again! Last year I did 2 recipes: a cookie one (click HERE), and a super easy 10 minute pupcake one (click HERE). This year, I decided to do something a little more complicated, but absolutely PERFECT for parties!
On a slightly unrelated note, I can't believe it's been a year?! That was fast!
Alright, on to the recipe!
You'll need:
For Pupcakes:
250g Minced Meat (I used pork)
60g Vegetables of your choice (I used spinach and carrot)
1 Egg
Cupcake Cases
For Frosting:
1 Beetroot (about 200grams)
200g Mashed Potato
1 teaspoon flour
100ml water
Before starting, preheat your oven to 150 degrees celsius.
Place all pupcake ingredients into the bowl and mix well:
Then, divide between pupcake cases and bake for 30 minutes.
While pupcakes are baking, you can prepare the "blood". That part requires lots of repetitive microwave time, so it's best to watch the video tutorial because the pictures might seem confusing. Just remember, you MUST cover your beetroot and water with a microwave-safe cling wrap when steaming. Otherwise, your entire microwave is going to be flooded with beetroot juice!
Once the "blood" is done, and your pupcakes are baked and cooled, you can begin decorating!
It's definitely the best part, haha. Check out the video tutorial above for more info! ;)

https://www.feedmypaws.com/blogs/feed-my-paws/diy-feedmypaws-recipe-homemade-cream-cheese-for-dogs2016-07-29T21:57:00+08:002016-07-29T22:07:26+08:00DIY FeedMyPaws Recipe: Homemade Cream Cheese for dogs!Crystle Tan
Today I've got a really simple 2 ingredient homemade cream cheese recipe! Most of you who have probably already have these two ingredients at home :)
For this recipe, it's important that you use WHOLE MILK (or full fat milk as it's called in some countries), because you need that fat to get creamy cheese. It isn't going to work with low fat, or skim milk. I was very interested in getting goat's milk to try this recipe out but couldn't find any fresh goat's milk near where I live :( If anyone tries this with fresh goat's milk, do let me know how it turns out!
So, what can you use this cream cheese for? Here's some yummy ideas! :)
As a filling for tarts (as you'll hear me mention in the video, I'm doing a collaboration with Pets Magazine for our Singapore's 51st birthday, and you'll find a strawberry and cheese tart recipe in their upcoming August/September issue! This is the PERFECT filling for that!)
As a frosting for birthday cakes
As a party dip
To make cookies or cheese cakes
Or, add some frozen strawberries, banana, or blueberries and get a delicious, creamy dessert!
Okay, on to the ingredients!
This yields 20g of Cream Cheese (yes, it's very little, haha.)
1/2 cup whole milk
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Yep, that's all. Haha! You can double, triple, or make ten times this portion if you like! It can be kept for up to a week in the fridge :)
Oh yes, for those of you who have a cheese cloth, you can go ahead and use that instead of a sieve. Also, if you have a food processor, you can use that to whip up your cream cheese, instead of using the method I did (whisking the cream cheese and pushing it through the sieve). Check out the tutorial below :)

https://www.feedmypaws.com/blogs/feed-my-paws/diy-feedmypaws-recipe-mini-pork-floss-buns-featuring-stella-chewys2016-07-22T17:47:00+08:002016-07-22T17:56:14+08:00DIY FeedMyPaws Recipe: Mini Pork Floss Buns (featuring Stella & Chewy's)Crystle Tan
Hi everyone!
Today I'll be making a mini, dog-friendly version of a very popular Singapore treat: the Pork Floss Bun! It rose to fame after BreadTalk marketed it (I'm not sure whether they're the original creators) and has been a hit for ages.
As we all know, dogs can't eat bread (yeast) and copious amounts of baking soda so I didn't use any leavening agents in this recipe. After all, no dog is gonna complain about bread not being fluffy enough right?! Haha.
The ingredients list is simple, and the recipe is very straightforward so even if you're new to baking, this will be a breeze to do!
Before I begin, I would like to mention that I was kindly given this pack of Stella & Chewy's by the team from ShopYbf (it's meant for Hoovy to try). You can pre-order yours by clicking HERE! This is NOT a paid advertorial. I decided to go ahead and make a recipe out of it anyway because I'm pretty pleased with the product :) More about that below!
INGREDIENTS LIST: Makes 6 mini buns (sufficient for 6 small dogs)
For "bread": 1/2 cup flour* 1 egg Approx 2 tbsp milk** (enough for dough to come together)
*I used brown rice flour. You can use oat flour, garbanzo flour, pretty much any flour your dog isn't allergic to.
*You can substitute milk with water or broth.
Egg wash: Leftover egg (see tutorial) with 1 tsp water
Topping: 1 scoop Stella & Chewy's (I used the scoop provided) 2 tbsp plain yoghurt (or honey or watered-down cream cheese)
*This recipe is NOT intended for commercial purposes. When reposting this recipe on blogs or other online platforms, kindly credit Feed My Paws. For commercial printing, kindly email info@feedmypaws.com
So, why did I decide to do a recipe using Stella & Chewy's?
I'm really particular about what the boys eat. To me, meat is very essential in a dog's diet and I always look for quality protein on the ingredients list. The first ingredient should always be protein. That being said, another important point I look out for is the amount of fat. Stella & Chewy's has an average of min 28% fat (and min 48% protein, yay!) before rehydration, compared to other brands with an average of min 35% fat or more. A diet that's high in fat will lead to obesity and other health complications- that's a big NO-NO for the boys!! Heart problems, joint issues, breathing problems, no thanks.
Also, I really like the idea that ALL the proteins used are either cage-free, grass-fed, or wild-caught. These animals are kept in a better environment, have access to sunlight and fresh air, and it is a significantly more ethical way to farm meat.
You can find out more about the other benefits of the production of Stella and Chewy's by clicking HERE.
At the end of the day, it's important to me that my boys eat a balanced diet, and if they're having commercial food, it shouldn't contain ingredients that are detrimental to their health in the long run. For my dogs, a commercial diet is something they eat only when I'm too busy to prepare a home cooked meal for them. Regardless of what commercial diet your dog is on, it is ALWAYS important to add fresh vegetables whenever you can. Trust me, it makes a huge difference to add fresh food :)
That being said, I would just like to repeat that I wasn't paid to promote Stella & Chewy's and all opinions mentioned on this blog are my own.

Hi everyone!
Today we're doing a slightly different tutorial: It's a DIY project! :) All you need are 2 main ingredients that you probably already have at home :)
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup plain flour *
1/2 cup salt
Water (approx 3/4 cup)
Optional: food colouring (I used turmeric for this one. However, because this isn't something for your dog to consume, you can feel free to use any crazy, artificial colours! I just didn't have any at home haha. I really wanted a bright pink one!!)
Bake at 180 degrees celsius for approximately 15 minutes. Baking is NOT compulsory for this project. You can air-dry it as well (takes 2-3 days). Baking simply accelerates the drying process.
*I recommend using any plain, white flour. Bleached or unbleached is fine. As your dog isn't going to eat this, any inexpensive flour will do :) Avoid self-raising flour though, your paw print will end up really bloated!
Tips after the video tutorial ;D
TIPS:
1.To store your paw print for longer, consider investing in a glaze that's used for acrylic paint. You can also use Mod Podge or other types of glaze used for polymer clay :) Otherwise, your paw print will probably only have a lifespan of about one week. IMPORTANT: ONLY GLAZE YOUR PAW PRINT AFTER IT'S DRY!
2. You can paint your paw print with acrylic paint once it's dry :)
3. You can air-dry this dough, although it might take up to 48 hours
4. The little cracks you see are pretty normal. You can add a little more water for a smoother dough but if you choose to bake instead of air-dry, you might still get some cracks :)

Hi everyone!
Today we're doing Birthday Party for One Dog recipe :) It works for 2 small dogs too :) This video was highly requested because we know many of you only have one precious little pooch, and sometimes, all you want is a small portion of freshly baked pupcakes or cookies for a birthday, or even just a fun weekend to spend together! All you need are some very simple ingredients. The main one being baby food ;) Here's a bit more detail on that.
This is what I purchased:
The important thing to note when buying baby food is to ensure that there isn't any sugar, salt, onions, chocolate, preservatives, or basically anything dogs aren't supposed to have. The one I purchased contained only vegetables and water:
Ingredients list:
Pupcakes (makes 2 small pupcakes):
1/2 jar of baby food (55g)
3 tablespoons flour (I recommend oat flour or brown rice flour)
1 egg
Cookies (makes 15 small cookies):
1/2 jar baby food (55g)
4 tablespoons flour (plus extra for rolling/in case dough is too soft and you need to add more)
Optional: Parsley, Turmeric, Mint Leaves
This recipe is vegetarian, but if your dog is like one of ours and absolutely hatesssss veggies (Hoovy the little rascal), then you're probably gonna want to add some fish (like tuna), or meat (minced) to the mix. All you have to do is substitute 1 or 2 tablespoons of flour for fish/meat and you're good to go :)

https://www.feedmypaws.com/blogs/feed-my-paws/117210245-xylitol-can-kill-dogs2016-05-11T21:40:00+08:002016-05-11T21:47:37+08:00Xylitol can KILL dogs!Crystle Tan
Xylitol is a common artificial sweetener found in human food and snacks. It's also known as a "sugar substitute" and is commonly found in "sugar-free" human treats such as candies, cookies, cakes, drinks, and more.
EXAMPLES:
While xylitol is tolerated by humans, it is EXTREMELY TOXIC to dogs. Some articles I've come across mentioned it can be "tolerated by dogs in small amounts" but I strongly, strongly, STRONGLY disagree with that sentence.
0.5grams of Xylitol doesn't sound like much, but it could potentially cause serious damage in a small dog. How would anyone know how much artificial sweetener is found in one cookie, or a slice of cake? Why take the risk? Here's a breakdown:
I'm writing this article because a friend of mine recently kept a pack of sugar-free candy within reach of her dog. While she was out, he got to it, consumed a few, and even though he was rushed to the vet as soon as she got home, sadly, he did not make it. She had no idea about the harmful effects xylitol has on dogs (and believe me, she loves her dog dearly), which made me realize that maybe a lot of dog parents may not be aware of it too.
We all know sugar isn't good for our dogs (it isn't good for us either, but that's another story for another day) but PLEASE DO NOT purchase sugar-free human grade treats for your dogs without reading the ingredients list first. I know "sugar-free" sounds good, but it might not be so.
Here's some tips on what you can do:
1. Check whether the treats you are purchasing contains Xylitol, or anything that is referred to as "Natural Sweetener".
(Other sweeteners such as Sorbitol and Aspartame are said to be non-toxic although large amounts can cause diarrhoea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and/or gas. I haven't found enough information to conclude what is the definition of 'large amount'. Let's just say, since these sweeteners have zero benefits, there really isn't much point consuming them)
2. One rule I always follow is: if I don't understand an ingredient or it sounds like a chemical and Google isn't giving me a clear enough answer, I don't buy it. There are MANY other treats out there that are 100% dog-safe. Why take the risk?
3. If you have no choice and have to choose between a treat with artificial sweetener OR sugar for your dog, GO WITH SUGAR. It's bad, but it WON'T KILL YOUR DOG. Although I don't know why anyone would ever have to make such a decision.
Here's what to do if you suspect that your dog has ingested Xylitol:
Rush him/her to the vet. Xylitol causes a sudden release of insulin which results in hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar). Your dog will show signs of lethargy, or may begin to vomit within 30 minutes of consuming something containing Xylitol. RUSH HIM/HER TO THE VET IMMEDIATELY. If left untreated, it will be FATAL.
If you commonly consume sugar-free/foods that contain Xylitol at home, be sure to keep it out of reach of your dog. Hide it in a cupboard, way, way, beyond their reach. Dogs are curious (and greedy!) and will want a taste of anything you put within them. It's our responsibility as pet parents to keep them safe!

Hi everyone!
Today we're doing a 2 ingredient dog-friendly ice cream! It's a very simple base that you can customize to add your favourite flavours! Here's some examples:
Add fresh strawberries or homemade strawberry jam (see HEREfor recipe) to get yummy strawberry ice cream
Add durian flesh for delicious and creamy durian ice cream
Add carob for a dog-friendly chocolate ice cream
The possibilities are endless! :)
Ingredients List:
2 x cans of Coconut Milk (270ml each, use full fat)
1/2 cup of yoghurt (this is optional. I find that it cuts down on the richness of the coconut, but you can keep it vegan and use just coconut milk)
Important note: Coconut milk is high in fat, so feed it in small quantities :)

Hi everyone!
Today we'll be doing a dog-friendly French classic, crepes! All you need for this recipe are 3 main ingredients, and the rest is up to you :) Lots of tips below, so do spend some time reading them after watching the tutorial if it's your first time attempting a crepe :)
Ingredients List:
2 eggs
1/2 cup water (you can also use goat's milk, cow's milk, or soy milk but as with all types of milk, be sure to introduce it to your dog's diet slowly)
2 tablespoons flour (I used brown rice flour in this recipe, but you can also use oat flour, buckwheat flour, or keep it paleo by using coconut flour!)
1 tablespoon coconut oil (or any vegetable oil of your choice)
TIPS:
1. Make sure you mix your ingredients thoroughly. This is a very thin batter, and it's important that there are no lumps as crepes cook very quickly and you don't want pockets of flour or lumps of egg in your crepe.
2. Allow your crepes to cool before filling them with ingredients. Hot crepes are more fragile and they also melt ingredients such as yoghurt really quickly!
3. Think of the crepes as a plain piece of bread, and top it with anything your dog loves! From fruits, to meat, fish, veggies, the possibilities are endless!
4. When cooking the crepes, use a non-stick pan. This is very, very important. A non-stick pan allows you to cook the crepes without any added oil, and it also makes it much easier to flip them!

Hi everyone!
Today we're doing a very simple 3 ingredient Easter Egg Recipe! This recipe is perfect for everyone in the family! I wanted to come up with something that was fun to do (kids will love making their own little chickys!), yummy to eat (furkid approved!), and easy to bring along for a weekend picnic (long weekend, yay!).
You can pack the eyes, beak, and feet separately and bring them along to your picnic for everyone to have fun designing their own little Easter family!
Here's what you'll need:
Hard boiled eggs
Nori (seaweed) but you can also substitute with black sesame seeds, watermelon seeds (probably should remove this before giving it to your furkid), or even cooked black beans!
Carrot or any kind of hard vegetable (if you're using raw pumpkin or sweet potato as part of your decor, I recommend removing those and giving them a quick steam before feeding it to your furkid)
I used a hole puncher for the nori to get the round eyes (I was lazy haha!) but you can just use a pair of scissors if you don't have a hole puncher :)
For those you whose furkids are on a diet, give them just the egg white :)
For humans, we highly recommend eating these with a spicy mayonnaise dip! Just mix a little chilli sauce with mayonnaise and you're good to go ;) Happy Easter!!

Hi everyone!
We're finally back from our trip! While we were away in Vietnam and Thailand, we noticed lots of dishes being served in fruits such as coconut, pineapple, papaya, and even a giant jackfruit dessert! All of that inspired this week's recipe: a super simple and delicious coconut soup recipe!
Here's what you'll need:
1 coconut (I bought the one that had the top pre-cut because I don't have the strength to open one, haha!)
40g Meat or Fish (you can omit this if your pup has allergies)
40g Pumpkin (you can also use sweet potato, or any kind of vegetable your pup likes)
The weight isn't important, as it also depends on how large or small your coconut is. I would recommend filling the coconut about 3/4 of the way, so there's still room for the liquid :)
Video tutorial below. Enjoy!

Hi everyone!
Today we'll be doing a really simple (haha, I realize I always say that, but I really do try to keep it as simple as possible to encourage everyone to try!) Panda Onigiri Recipe! :) All you need are 2 ingredients ;) I recommend serving this with Chicken Stir-Fry (I substituted with Tuna as Skotch can't have too much chicken) on the side, and to complete the meal, a yummy Chawanmushi! Both these recipe tutorials can be found below :)
Panda Onigiri Ingredients:
-200g cooked white rice*
-1 large piece of seaweed, or several small pieces
*short-grain japanese rice is the traditional rice used to make onigiri, but in this recipe I used regular Jasmine rice and it worked quite well as a substitute. I didn't want to buy a bag of short-grain rice just to make one onigiri, and you shouldn't have to as well! Just use what you have at home :) If you do use short-grain rice though, it'll probably look prettier, unlike my Panda where the rice grains are glaringly obvious, haha!
HOW TO MAKE PANDA ONIGIRI:
Some pictures below: These are the seaweed pieces you'll need (it's more than what's needed actually, but I've a tendency to get rice stuck on everything so I recommend getting some extra!). In the video tutorial I show a quick snippet on how to cut out the eyes and mouth, but it's pretty straightforward.
Using cling wrap, I shaped the rice into a head, body, 4 legs, and 2 ears :) The video tutorial will show you exactly how to do this. The cling wrap is highly recommended, but if you really don't have any, you can wet your hands, or coat it with a tiny bit of coconut oil to reduce sticking. It'll still stick though, you know how rice is right? Haha.
Cover the legs and ears in seaweed!
I served Mr Panda on a bed of tuna stir-fry! You can try our chicken stir-fry recipe and serve Mr Panda with that! I substituted chicken for tuna, because Skotch has an allergy.
Put Mr Panda together (shown in video) and here you are!
